My name is Mia Sinkiewicz and I have been swimming year-round since I was six years old. I have always had a love for the water and that drove me to become a competitive swimmer. I love to compete and am constantly striving to become better. With this constant desire to compete, I believe that I will fit in well with a highly competitive collegiate team that expresses the same desire. My ideal atmosphere is somewhere I can grow and support my teammates, and we can constantly push each other to be the best we can be. I am a versatile swimmer and am willing to contribute to the team however I am needed.
It has always been a goal of mine to swim at the collegiate level. I believe that it is extremely important to find a balance between schoolwork and time in the pool, as a student-athlete. I plan on majoring in a Health Science or Pre-Medicine program, as I have always had a fascination with the human body and how it functions.
I grew up in New England and swam there until moving to Hilton Head when I entered my freshman year of high school. My exposure to different teams and LSC's has allowed me the opportunity to understand how to adapt to different teammates, coaching styles, geographic areas, personalities and schools. I have also been an athlete representative for the past 2 years, serving on various LSC committees to give back to the sport that has given so much to me. I have learned more about myself through this move and feel that it's prepared me for the transition to the collegiate level.
