Hi, my name is Emma Sheets and I currently swim for Prime Aquatics and Maryville High School. I took a different path than most swimmers since I joined my first swim team at age 12. I had tried other sports including soccer, basketball, and softball but did not really love any of them. When I failed to make our local soccer team, my friend told me I should try summer swimming. I joined Green Meadow swim team and loved it. Initially, I was the slowest on the team and only placed a few times the entire first season. I joined Prime Aquatics and began year round swimming. Now I excel on my team and have found a love for breaststroke. I continue to improve on all the other strokes and strive to do my best each and every meet. I am grateful swimming became a part of my life because it has taught me so many lessons and enabled me to make the best group of friends who support me through swim and school. I strive to do well in academics also, so the rigorous practice schedule has taught me the importance of balancing school and swim. My ultimate dream is to attend medical school and become a doctor, but I would love if swimming could continue to be a part of my life while attending college.
