Joining swim my sophomore year of high school was a last spontaneous decision I made at the start of the school year, and little did I know what id be getting myself into .
I meet amazing new teammates, and created bonds with friends, who i now call my family. Coach Murphy saw potential in me, in everyone, that they could and would be better. Starting my sophomore year had its ups and downs, trying to keep up with JV and Varsity , when dealing with a head injury, me not feeling like I was good enough and wanting to quit.
However, as time went on, swim got easier, my times starter slowly dropping, I had better endurance, I had more confidence within myself, and I got to know another part of myself, that I didn't even know I had. Sure, I may not be the best athlete on the team, or the number one in districts, but I am the best athlete I can be! Ive improved more in this first year of swimming, than any other sport, activity, job, that i have ever done.
I have big hopes and dreams of swimming on a collegiate team. Looking back joining into my first year of swim, I had no clue what I was getting into, seeing this as a mere P. E credit, but it turned into so much more than that. My swim team became my friends, family, and my entire life. And I would love to feel the same way on your team!
