My name is Jasmine Vaughan. I inspire to study political science and become a lawyer one day. I grew up seeing people on the wrong side of law enforcement, and I saw law enforcement fail many times. Seeing that fueled this part of me that wanted to be invested in the right side of the law.
You don't know who I am yet, but I know who I am. I am the girl who was willing to try volleyball, basketball, track, soccer and playing the violin. I tried whatever I could get my hands or feet to do because I didn't want to pass up an opportunity and make it a "what if I had." I tried anything my parents would let me. When I tried tennis, it felt like what I had been missing for so long. The court became somewhere that I would forget about my paper due, my textbook to read, or my dishes to clean. Tennis is my meditation, my calm spot, and I couldn't imagine spending my college years without it.
This may sound like something that you've heard one million times, but it's not. I will put my all into tennis. I can keep my GPA up, and play consistently. My determination and dedication will never leave the class nor the court. You will never meet an athlete that will give as much devotion to your courts and school at the same time, without letting one slip.
