I’m an upcoming senior; currently taking dual credit courses, planning to graduate high school with my associates degree. I started swimming competitively my freshman year and ever since then I fell in love with the sport. My freshman year I was unable to qualify for regionals in any of my events. Throughout the season my senior teammates guided, and helped me become a better swimmer and the next year I qualified for regionals. My skills improved fairly quickly and I became captain my second year swimming. Not only do I have a passion for the sport, but I’m very coachable and look for improvements. I take my swimming career seriously and prioritize it over the other sports I do. I consider my teammates and coaches family, therefore, I’m very team oriented. It is very important for me to have a bond with my teammates and allow ourselves to learn from each other. This past season for my junior year my team faced some step backs; not only did we have limited meets because of covid but we also lost our head coach. Even with the challenges me and my teammates managed to pull through the adversity and qualify for regionals in two events. I look forward to achieve the new goals I set for the new season. I’m very excited to see what the upcoming season has for me!
