My parents introduced me to swimming with my first lesson at the age of 6 months, by the age of 9 I was swimming competitively for both a summer league and club teams. Currently a Senior, I continue to grow and push myself to this day swimming for Dripping Spring High School's Varsity Swim team and YMCA Austin Club Team.
Swimming competitively provides many benefits for me both physically and mentally. The routine of multiple workouts and tight daily schedules helps me in my personal and academic aspects of my life. Swimming contributes to my motivation, organization and my drive to keep improving and reach personal goals I set in both swim and academics.
During my school year, not only do I continue with my club swimming, but also volunteer regularly. During the summers I volunteer as a junior coach and compete with my local summer league swim team where I love helping the little ones learn the ins and outs of swimming and help them find their love for the sport. Other areas I am active in include volunteering for Habitat for Humanity, Lizzy’s Animal Hospice (where our family actively fosters elderly dogs), Helping Hands Dripping Springs (our local food pantry) and our family hosts exchange students (during the summers or school year). Volunteering is an outlet for me to make an impact in others lives while giving back to my community.
I have a driven personality, I am a self-starter and I love competition. Ultimately, I am an AP and Honors student who excels and enjoys STEM classes. I am looking for a college or university to attend where I can not only plan to focus on my educational goals of studying Biomedical Engineering but to also be part of a wonderful swim team program while attending my 4 years in college.
