Swimming has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I have strong athletic abilities and have excelled in any sport I try, from running to lacrosse to volleyball. For example, in 2019 I tried out for the lacrosse team, not knowing a thing about the sport. To my surprise, I made the varsity team due to my strength, endurance, and perseverance, becoming frequently subbed in for attacker and midfielder. I chose swimming because I love the dynamic of the sport in which you must set your own personal goals and then physically push yourself to swim your best as you cannot rely on team members to improve your performance in a race. Fitness, in general, is a major aspect in my life and I am constantly training diligently in and outside of the pool to maximize my potential. Swimming is also a great outlet to help me with stress which creates a balance between academics and activities . I am easily trainable and take instructions very well, allowing me to improve my stroke technique quickly.
I would love the opportunity to train at a college level. I do not believe I have reached my full potential yet and I am very excited to see what I can achieve. Being part of the team means so much to me and I love the support associated with it. I always want to inspire other swimmers to be their best by helping them maintain a positive and motivated mind set. Academically, I'm interested in design, physical sciences, and visual arts and I plan to major in Liberal Arts and eventually obtain a medical degree. I plan to take challenging courses that will allowing to explore these paths.
