Hello, my name is Jillian Turner and competitive swimming has been a passion of mine for over ten years. I swim an average of 6 days and 30 hours a week to stay in top shape. I also maintain a strict training regimen outside of the pool through weight lifting and cardiovascular exercises. I love competitive swimming because as a self-driven athlete, this sport enables me to constantly improve through dedication and hard work. I am equally driven to make top grades, maintaining a challenging course load of almost all AP and dual credit classes. I have successfully balanced both school and swimming through my time management skills, which have led to many awards and achievements, including the Wall of Honor Award. This prestigious award was handed out to only 5 students out of thousands, honoring those who displayed complete dedication, hard work, and outstanding character. My ambition, humility, work ethic, drive and positive outlook on life is what sets me apart from my competitors. I aspire to swim with equally driven people, push myself to break records in the events I am the strongest, and study at a school where I have the opportunity to study and major in science. From there, I will go on to pursuing a graduate degree in medicine.
