My name is Morgan Schield and I swim on the national team for Aqua Swift Aquatics located near San Antonio, Texas, as well as San Antonio Christian High School. For the ten years I've been swimming, I no doubt have fallen in love with difficult practices, exciting meets, and the company of my teammates more and more everyday. I use every practice as an opportunity to not only work on speed, strength, endurance, and momentum, but to increase my mental motivational in creating swims that balance technique and tempo while keeping a positive attitude. For me, practice is the time of day I look forward to the most and pushing myself beyond my own expectations and enduring the pain of every set provides me with great enjoyment of the sport. It is not simple to maintain high achievements in both school and swimming, but I make sure to create a routine that ensures for a sufficient night of rest, an energized morning practice, a successful day at school, and completion of my assignments and studies. Competing with teammates and encouraging one another to work to our best abilities brings me a tremendous amount a joy and being able to continue doing this in the future excites me tremendously. I lead my high school team to be the two time state defending champions in Division II by placing first in both 100 back and 100 fly and playing a part in two gold medal relays as well. I take joy in working extremely hard and have favor towards the most challenging set of each practice, and I hope to keep gaining new challenges in my collegiate years.
