I was introduced to swimming by my family. My grandpa swam in college, my brother swam on the high school team, then my sister and I got into swimming together. My sister is my motivation. Even though she is three years older than I, I like to have competitions with her times.
I took my first swim lessons when I was four years old with the City of Temple, Texas. Then the following year I joined the Temple Summer Swim League and made it to state in 2012. I made it to state in 2013, 2015 and 2016. In 2016, when I was nine, I placed third in the 100 yard individual medley with a time of 1:34.87. After that I joined Monster Swim USA team where I was able to swim many meets and earn ranking in the South Texas Division. I swam with a private coach until joining Tiger Shark Swim USA team in 2019. Now, since 2021, I have joined and swam with Platinum Aquatics. I always strive to give one hundred percent during practice. I believe that if I do not practice giving one hundred percent, how could I possibly give one hundred percent during a meet?
Currently, I am in the twelfth grade. I am taking dual credit British Literature, dual credit economics and government, as well as IB environmental science. A major goal for me is to remain in the top five percent throughout high school.
When I am not in the water I love to create art through painting and drawing. I enjoy art because I feel like it is another way I can express myself.
I really enjoy going to meets not only to compete and improve my times, but I love cheering on my teammates and seeing them improving and getting a new best time as well.
