I am from Green Bay, Wisconsin and I first started swimming for the Green Bay Swim Club when I was 7 years old in 2007. The club is a very small with a little less than 100 people, majority being kids younger than 10 years old. Which meant that I had to work hard and push myself to become better and achieve my goals. Because I am the “senior” on the team I try my best to be a positive role model for everyone else, especially the younger kids. I also try my best to keep my peers in a positive mood. I try to do this during challenging sets and hard practices to keep all my teammates motivated to be their best.
This year I will be a junior at Bay Port High School and I am looking forward to the high school swim season. The atmosphere of high school swimming is very different than what I am used to in club swimming. High school swim allowed me to be more involved with the team and my teammates. It motivated me not only to do well for myself but for the benefit of the team overall. My best events are the 200 IM and the 100 butterfly in high school, but I usually swim a wide variety of events. I willingly swim whatever my coach decides will benefit the team the most. Last season we were conference champions, sectional champions and many of our swimmers went to state. I hope to have the same success this season, if not better. This year we will welcome a new coach into the program and I look forward to the new aspects they will bring as well.
I look forward to continuing my swimming career in college. I am looking for a program that will challenge me, help me achieve my goals and make me a better swimmer. Education is also very important to me and finding a school that will challenge me academically as well as athletically is important. I’m not quite sure what I plan to do for my career yet but look forward to exploring my options in college!
