I have been involved in the sport of tennis competitively for 8 years now and even before that, there was a racket in hand.I started tennis at 3 and a half years. I have known that I wanted to take my career on to the collegiate level for about 5 years. However, what makes that goal so special is that until recently, it wasn't realistic. A lack of resources such as court time and competitions to raise my level of play was close to none in my country for the same amount of time that I have wanted to play in college; but even with those challenges, my drive, dedication and vision to get to that goal never died. Something that I have learnt about myself through this sport is that I am willing to do the work. It may not be what is easy for what I had planned but I am willing. I am driven in academics, my sport, and in making myself a person of humility who will hold not only myself accountable, but my teammates. I strive to be part of an environment and a team that is constantly growing and is always willing to give the best while helping my teammates along the way. I not only desire to play tennis but part of my life has always been about helping others.
