I was two miles into the race with no idea of how much I had left to go, I started to slow down, I started to get tired, but soon after that one of my teammates passed me as she said "come on, only one mile left to go" so I ran fast to catch up to her and we finished the race together. That was my first cross country race ever and as soon as we finished I asked my teammate "Why did we just run so much?" and she explained to me what cross country was and asked me why I joined the team if I did not have a clue of what I was doing. That was a good question, one that I did not know how to answer at that time. Now as I am three years into running Cross Country and Track and Field I realize how these sports have given me many values that add to my character, I became a person who is really team driven with and with a competitive edge.
I believe that I can benefit any team that I join by sharing my talents and passions. I am a very determined person as well as responsible, passionate, and kind, I will never take away from a team or create a bad team environment. My goals are to be necessary in a team as well as to make every teammate feel necessary. I believe that I have a lot of room for improvement with my times considering I have only been doing the sport for a short period of time. I am very consistent in my training and never miss a day.If I am given the chance I will continue on improvement in my times and be necessary to a team with who I can share my talents. Apart from sports I participate in many other school activities and clubs to try to contribute to the community with the same mentality in which I want to contribute to a team. I plan on continuing both my sports and attributions in college when given the chance.
