Hi! My name is Ashley Guerrero, I am a senior at Morton West High School and I am also on the Varsity tennis team. I first started playing tennis my sophomore year, I was on the JV team and I would mostly play doubles. My junior year of high school, I was also on the JV team, but this time I played number 2 singles. I love playing singles. I love the game in general. Now, I am in my senior year of high school. I am on the Varsity tennis team and I play number 1 singles. Going from number 2 singles on the JV team to number 1 singles on the Varsity team is a huge accomplishment of mine. My coaches are amazing. They have called me out on things I do wrong at times and tell/show me how to fix it so I can improve. My JV coach was a great teacher. He is both a friend and a coach. My Varsity coach is also a great teacher. He likes to goof around with everyone on the court, but also likes to win. Both my coaches have pushed me to do better. I have learned a lot from them. They are encouraging, fun, and determined. I love the game, you learn more and more everyday at practice or during a match with another player. Just like any other sport, you meet new people and create bonds; create new memories.
I would love to play tennis in college to continue playing, to learn new things, to meet new coaches, new people and create bonds with everyone along the way.
