Hello, my name is Keirsten Killman and I would like to take just a few minutes of your time to tell you a little bit about myself. I attend Herrin High School in Herrin, Illinois, and will graduate in 2025.
As I finished up my freshman season playing at Herrin High, I realized how much joy tennis really does bring me. Considering I have played the game since I was in the fifth grade, I have a huge passion for the sport. Tennis is a sport full of hardships and challenges, but I am dedicated to doing what I love and I will not give up. My first year was a lot of experience for me, and it taught me a lot of things. It was a great season for me, as I won the Most Valuable Female Tennis Player award for the 2021-2022 school year. This was a huge accomplishment for me and I am proud of the hard work I have put in.
When someone asks me what I want to do when I get out of high school, my immediate response is "Play competitive tennis in college." I feel that I have great leadership skills, along with a positive mindset. I set appropriate goals for myself and I know what they should and shouldn't be. I am a very hard worker and have immense dedication, as I previously mentioned. I am a team player and I am great at communicating. I take constructive criticism well and I love to hear feedback, so that way I know what I need to do differently. All of these traits are important to be an athlete, especially to play at the collegiate level. I feel that this is why I would make a good candidate for your team.
My two central goals for college are to train hard for competitive tennis to help my team win, and to get the best education possible.
Thank you.
