Ever since I was 8, tennis has pushed me, challenged me, and taught me so many skills on and off the court. I’ve always been my biggest critic and pushed myself to be the best player I can be. Even though I hold myself to very high standards, I have and always will see tennis as a fun and fulfilling lifelong passion. One of my biggest struggles in tennis was after I had an appendectomy on my 12th birthday and I went from playing around 20 hours a week to not playing at all for a couple months. I severely struggled to get back into it and felt like I was behind. I decided to keep pushing myself and not let this take away from all the hard work I put into my tennis development. By overcoming this, I learned so much about myself and that no matter how hard it might seem, I can overcome challenges that strike me and try to tear me down.
I hold my academics to a very high standard to make sure I can always play tennis. I love being involved in school activities, clubs, and teams. I'm even involved in leadership for 3 clubs! I believe that even though tennis is technically an individual sport, teamwork is what makes a team stronger, better, and an absolute necessity on any tennis team. I have a lot of experience being a leader and getting along with people, which I know will be very helpful on a college team. I’m really looking forward to continuing my tennis journey in college and experiencing the teamwork, challenging matches, and the complete college athlete experience!
