Personal Statement

Dear Coach,

I started playing tennis when I was 7 years old.  It has been the one constant in my life while growing up.  I cannot and do not want to imagine the day that I no longer play this game, which has provided me with an enormous amount of joy.  I can promise you that I will give you everything I have every time we step out on the court.  I am a team-oriented player who has always put her teammates before herself and listens well to constructive coaching.  If you ask me to do something, I will do it!

Off the court, I have worked hard to earn good grades in the classroom.  If I am not working on my game, you will most likely find me studying for an upcoming test or spending time with my family and friends.  I am in all honors classes and ahead of the set curriculum in almost all of my subjects.  My dedication in the classroom is also shown on the court.  When faced with a challenge, I do not give up.  I believe I am a fighter and have proven it in the various trials my teachers and coaches have thrown my way.

I believe that my upbringing and experiences have taught me many incredibly valuable lessons.  I learned at a young age that if I wanted something, I would have to work hard for it.  This created the persistent work ethic that I pride myself on today.  I hope that you will give me a chance to show you who I am on and off the field.  However, I can guarantee that if you are looking for a dedicated and responsible player who is a natural born leader that you have found me.  I would like to thank you in advance for your consideration and hope to hear from you soon!

Sincerely,

Zoe Schultz

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
