I started playing tennis at the age of 7 and have almost 10 years of experience. I am 5'4" and 135 lbs. My coaches and teammates consider me as a hard hitting, aggressive baseline player. I am extremely hard working and dedicated towards this sport. It has been my passion since I was a little girl, even before I picked up a racket for the first time. Tennis is what I dedicate most of my time to other than my academics.
I attend Woodsmill Tennis Club and have a private coach outside of my club that I meet with often for private lessons and advice for college tennis. I have been playing USTA tournaments for a few years- both doubles and singles- and hope to compete more often. I have been on the varsity team since my sophomore year, when I was ranked #6. In my junior season, I was ranked #1, was voted for team captain by my teammates, went to state for individual singles, and won the MVP and All conference- All academic award. I also received the MSHSAA Athlete of the Year award in my school. I would say this season was the most successful I've been throughout my tennis career, and I am hungry for more success. I also had a great senior season. I placed first place in GAC's individually and also placed 1st as a team. I also finished my season at the finals of individual sectionals for doubles. I hope to take what I learned in high school tennis and carry it with me to the college level!
I have a passion for tennis that I would like to take with me to college. I have a year round rigorous training schedule and a challenging academic schedule, which has taught me how to manage my time wisely and balance my activities. I want to study business in college and am unsure what my major will be. I hope to play at a highly competitive level in college where I can continue to find success. I am interested in playing for Indiana University and Penn State, but my college preferences are very broad and I am very open to looking at new colleges.
