I've been playing tennis since I was six years old. Since I first stepped on the court, I've aspired to play tennis at the collegiate level.
I'll start by telling you a little bit about my game. I have a strong groundstroke game and a solid serve. I'm very coachable because I'm receptive to constructive criticism and am a hardworking athlete. I strive to maintain the focus and determination needed to be one of the hardest working recruits you'll find. I would characterize myself as a determined, hardworking, intelligent, dependable, ambitious, and optimistic person.
As for school, I'm an exceptional student at the top of my class. I'm extremely well-rounded: in addition to tennis, I participate in forensics, orchestra, journalism, and competition math. I also devote a significant amount of time to community service. I volunteer for Special Olympics Tennis Buddies and Gifford Park Tennis, where I teach tennis to disabled and underprivileged kids. I founded a nonprofit organization called Swingin' Sisters Squad to address gender inequality in tennis and partnered with Girls Inc. of Omaha to create Just Speechy, a program that aims to serve underprivileged girls without access to a public speaking program.
I want to attend a college that will give me the opportunity to challenge myself academically with rigorous coursework in the classroom and athletically on the court as well. I'm confident that if I continue to push myself as an athlete and as a student, I'll be able to reach this goal.
