Hi! My name is Danielle Copp, I've been playing tennis pretty much my whole life, but more competitively since 8th grade. I was introduced to the sport at a young age by my parents and often found myself hitting a tennis ball against our garage door during the when I was little. Within the past 5 years I have grown to love the sport even more and have become passionate about it. Besides the game itself, I love the team aspect and the community that surrounds the sport. It's really nice to be apart of a team and among people who love tennis as much as I do and who also support each other. Tennis has really influenced my life and I don't think I would be where I am without it. Through playing I have learned a lot about myself and learned a lot of aspects that help me both on and off the court. For example, I've learned how to stay determined and positive when things get difficult. One challenge I had to overcome to get where I am today in life and in tennis was my personal fitness. When I first started I wasn't in good shape at all, let alone athletic, however over these past few years tennis has really changed that. Playing tennis was one of the biggest ways of how I got into shape, but also my love for the sport and desire to progress in my ability led me to start working out and lifting weights. This small challenge that I overcame taught me determination and persistence, which I hope I can use throughout my life and bring to the team I'm on. I've used what I learned from tennis in high school and it has helped shap my academic goals. I push myself in school just like I do in tennis, and always try to be the best that I can. I strive towards high grades, full understanding, and excellence in all of my classes. Within these past years I have been pushing myself by taking advanced and/or accelerated classes, including honors classes, college classes, and AP classes. My high school goals correlate with my college goals; pushing myself and striving for excellence.
