Hello!! My name is Christina Dyakiv, I am currently a junior at William Floyd High School in NY. I have played tennis since I was a little girl, inspired by my older sister, also a tennis player. Starting at the age of 5, I hit balls at the courts with my dad, who is my #1 supporter. I find tennis a fascinating sport to both watch and play. I love to spend time on the court practicing my serves, volleys, and other skills, hoping that practice doesn’t end. I always find a way to improve myself both on and off the court by working hard and staying consistent. There is never a day that is “bad” because everyday is progress. I play tennis all- year finding various indoor sessions to attend during the winter, playing multiple times a week, and playing tennis throughout the summer. The love I have for this sport is unimaginable and I want to continue working hard, playing throughout my college career. I was honored to be named captain my 8th grade year, I loved being in the leadership position, guiding and motivating my team to many victories. I also received the coaches award as a freshman and MVP my sophomore year. As a student-athlete, I also work hard academically by being in AP/honors classes, many clubs, and on the lacrosse team. I am also am part of extracurricular activities outside of school including: Horlytsia Ukrainian Dance Ensemble and Holy Family Ukrainian School. Other than playing tennis, I enjoy spending time with family/friends, going to the gym, skiing, going to the beach and traveling. I have always been determined and hard working, and nothing can change that. I am excited to play tennis at the collegiate level!!
