I will be seeking an excellent academic school, probably in the northeast, where I will be able to both pursue my academic interests and play on the tennis team. I have been playing competitive tennis (USTA tournaments) since I was nine. When I graduate, I will have played high school tennis for 6 years (two years as a middle schooler) and hope to continue to play in college. I have been the winner / finalist in 38 USTA tournaments. As the first singles player, I have led my high school team the past two years to play in the county championship final (Nassau county is very competitive and probably has the highest level of high school tennis in New York State). While I am a very good singles player, I also enjoy and particularly excel playing doubles. I have been a New York All State player the past two years playing doubles and hope to repeat for a third time in my senior year. Two years ago I changed coaches and soon after the level of my play vastly improved and continues to improve. Some of my best tennis experiences and memories have been as a team member including my high school tennis team and the Eastern zonal team, and I hope this will continue in college. Academically, I have very open interests. I am well balanced doing equally well in science and liberal arts subjects. I have taken a heavy load of college level, AP and honors courses and expect that I am very well prepared for a college level education.
Yes, the profile picture is a badminton picture. I also play badminton. The picture was taken this summer while I was competing in Israel for the United Sates badminton team in the World Maccabiah games.
