Ashley Kenia '21 Recruiting Profile

When someone asks me to describe myself, the first thing that comes to mind is Ashley Kenia. That's it. There is no one word to explain who I am, because I truly believe that I am the only person like me, and nothing compares. Not in a way that I think I am so much better than everyone, but in the sense that I am just different. One of my strongest passions in life is concerts, basically music in general. I have seen over 50 artists live! Within this passion, I am fully committed to everything that comes along with it. From hundreds of dollars that I made from my summer job serving ice cream, I have accumulated a wardrobe full of merchandise that I proudly where everyday. I also continuously promote my favorite artists by hyping them up to my school and friends through social media as well as verbal exclamations, and by streaming their music on repeat to make their songs rise to the top of the charts. I live, I breathe, I love these bands, these artists, everything they are about. I do this simply because I want to support the people who've made a difference in my life and inspire me. Now, the reason I am telling you this is because that through this enormous amount of effort I put into these people, I have become the most passionate person about things I love. As my poetry teacher said to my class, I "put more passion and effort towards things I love than average people". This trait of mine carries through with school, sports, relationships, and other extracurriculars. The reason I have a 4.0 GPA is because I am honestly fascinated with learning new things, and I am passionate about my future. One of my many dreams in life is to be the CEO of Google, and when I tell you I won't stop until that dream is achieved, I mean it. As for sports, I give it my all no matter what because another passion of mine lies within tennis. I love everything about my tennis team, from my amazing teammates, to my win-driven coach, and to the supportive mothers, its being a part of a family, something bigger than yourself. This pattern falls true with my other after-school activities, such as teaching first grade Sunday school, alter-serving, being the Secretary and PR of FBLA, experience as Treasurer of my class, serving ice cream part-time in the summer, working the local Festival of Lights part-time in the winter, etc. I do all these activities for a reason, I am passionate about them. Now, I know I've written a whole essay, but you can't describe Ashley Kenia in anything less. I am energetic, outgoing, driven, supportive, confident, unapologetically myself, and passionate all in one, and anyone who knows me can 100% guarantee that.
