When I was very young I loved to watch tennis on television. Although, I don’t remember, my parents always told me that when we drove by tennis courts I would say, “That’s my game.” So, you can imagine how thrilled I was at 8 years old when I finally had the opportunity to start taking tennis lessons. In my second tournament of actually competing, I received my very first tennis trophy as a finalist. I have been hooked on the game of tennis ever since. Playing tennis has taught me a lot of life lessons, like mental toughness, perseverance, and problem solving. As I continue to improve my skill level and perfect my technique, I look forward to what is to come.
Although tennis is normally considered an individual sport, I have had several opportunities to play the sport on a team. I have played USTA Junior Team Tennis, represented Texas on the 10U “Border Battle” team (1 out of 6 girls selected from the entire state) vs the Southwest Section, and represented Texas on the 14U USTA “Zonals” team. Some of my biggest accomplishments have come from a team effort. I have won a USTA National Level 2 and a USTA National Level 3 tournament playing doubles. I know that I have all the qualities to be a valuable player on your team!
