Winning the state championship this past season with the best friends and teammates I've ever had would never have happened had my mother not forced me to play tennis in second grade, and I couldn't be more grateful. In the ten years I've been playing tennis, I feel that the sport itself was only a small part of everything I've learned. Through numerous injuries and complications in our seasons as a team, I've learned to appreciate the time I do have playing and believe that I can bring a positive, "live in the moment" attitude to any team. Playing varsity tennis for the past four years (and hopfeully a fifth) has taught me to be patient and to care for my team, as well as to work with others towards a common goal.
I hold myself to an extremely high standard in both academics and athletics. Though it can be difficult at times, I believe being so tough on myself has played a large role in my success up to this point. I hope to finish my senior year at the top of my class and keep my GPA high. I would love to do the same in college and will do everything in my power to balance academics and sports for success in both. I've faced many obstaces on the tennis court and in the classroom, but I strongly believe that my resilience will make me a strong competitor both academically and on your team!
