During my Sophomore year of highschool I decided to try out a new sport, running. I've always had a love of sports, ever since I was old enough to join teams. I grew up watching one of my older sister compete in track and cross country, as well as biking next to my mom on her 14 mile runs. In 6th grade I made my very first commitment to a long distance athletic challenge. I developed a plan to bike 100 miles over Christmas break. I wasn’t only planning to do this I was determined. The moment I looked down and saw that the mileage hit 100, I knew that I could accomplish any goal I wanted. Last year when I ran my very first cross country race, I immediately fell in love with the sport. Again, I developed a plan to become the fastest female runner on my team. Not only did I accomlish this goal, I am also the fastest female runner in my region. The combination of teamwork and competition is what really encourages me to run. Now my average morning is waking up to my alarm at 5:10am to get up to go workout. Being a competitive person pushes me to continuously work to become one of the most hardworking athletes on the team. I push myself not only to become a better runner but to become a better student in the classroom. Working to maintain a 4.0 GPA and to continue to be apart of The National Honor Society Association is something that I value. Kinesiology is what I plan to pursue in my future. When I attend a University, I hope to find a team that I will be a good addition too as well as a team that will help me not only become a better athlete but a better person.
