Jordan Strausbaugh '22 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Jordan Strausbaugh. I am going into my senior year at Soldotna High School in Alaska. Growing up I have always enjoyed participating in many different sports. I played competitive soccer for seven years and I played varsity soccer my freshman year of high school. I have also participated in varsity cross country, skiing, and track teams during my high school career. I started running cross country my seventh grade year; however, it wasn’t until ninth grade that I realized how much I enjoyed the sport.

I think that running in Alaska is a very different experience than anywhere else. Half of my sophomore cross country season was cancelled due to forest fires. Meanwhile, track season is often delayed due to too much snow. Looking back at it, I have realized that this has made me a hard worker. It was definitely tough having to run in snow and ice all winter, but it has made me a stronger runner mentally. I am hoping to have my best season this upcoming year with big pr’s!

Ever since middle school, I have focused on getting good grades. With hard work and dedication I have been a straight A student with a current gpa of 4.04 with multiple AP an Honors classes. I will continue to work hard to achieve the academic goals that I have set for myself.

I have not yet decided what college I want to attend, but I do know that I would love to be on a cross country/track team. Thank you for reading my statement and I look forward to hearing from you!
