I have only been running since the end of 8th grade and that is when I realized that I did have talent. In 8th grade I won the 100m and broke a 30 year record for my league in the 200m. After this it became clear that I may have the potential to run and even get a scholarship in college. Before my 8th grade track season I was clearly set on only my academics and was proud to have a 4.0 all throughout middle school. Now in high school and after my first year of running on the Varsity team and going to such events like the Stanford Invitational, Mt Sac Relays, and the Arcadia Invitational I know that I want to continue to compete and run in college.
I believe that with only a year of coaching I have learned a lot and being still really new at this sport I have a lot of room for growth. What makes me different is that at my age and with continued coaching my times for my PRs with only improve.
In school I am focused on my academics with a particular focus in Math and Science, I will be apart of the Advanced Drama club this year, and I continue to train with my personal coach in track to reach my own goals before track season starts.
