As a student-athlete, family member, and friend, there are a vast amount of things that are important to me; such as XC/Track, relating to my own athletic performance, as well as my team's; my academic and scholastic goals; and playing an active role in people's lives, more specifically my family and friends, by helping and assisting them to become a better version of themselves. In an admirable sense, I also enjoy giving back to the community through free tutoring, and volunteering at homeless shelters. All of these things are of great importance to me and are my top-priorities.
On an athletic note, I started running my freshman year of high-school. Before high-school, I swam competitively since I was the age of 5 and gave up swimming for running when high-school came around. Ever since I started running, I fell in love with the sport and knew I wanted to do it the rest my life. To further emphasize, running is something that genuinely gives me joy that I want to always be a part of my life. With this being said, I am a runner that always strives for more, in a sense that I set high standards for myself and put myself in a position to reach them with determination, consistency, hard-work, and the ability to make the necessary sacrifices for the greater good. I consider myself a runner with a lot of heart that's strong-willed and coachable, always striving to put in 100% effort on and off the track. A few of my strengths as a runner include having a strong kick for the finish, and being comfortable with being uncomfortable. I have had to overcome numerous obstacles throughout running, and understand that running, just like life, is full of ups and downs, but consistency is the key to reach my potential. Running at the colligate level has always been a goal of mine since I first started running, and would be a once in a lifetime opportunity that I would be forever grateful for.
