My first year in junior high (7th grade) I became really interested in track and field. My dad used to be a great hurdler and I hope to follow in his footsteps. I’ve learned that I need to keep pushing myself to get better and things aren’t just handed to me. I work hard in the weight room early in the mornings and go to practices in the afternoon. I participate in basketball in the winter to keep me in shape for the upcoming track season and to help me with my team dynamic.
As a junior in high school I am taking college classes to prepare me for my future. Even with these difficult classes I maintain a 3.97 GPA. I put passion into everything I do, whether that be show choir, basketball, track, and even working at my dad's lumberyard. Not everyone these days can say they have a great work ethic, but I know I do, and that shows with my athletic and academic abilities.
