Hey! My name is Nadia Kolbus.
I started hurdling freshman year after begging my coaches all through jr high to let me try it. As soon as I tried, I had a natural talent for the motion of it and fell in love with running hurdles. My freshman year I excelled on my 5-6a varsity team in Mandeville, Louisiana, claiming 6th place at the regional meet, only a few tenths of a second away from going to state my freshman year!
Halfway through my sophomore year, I moved to Colorado. I was excited for the possibilities and excited to compete for my new school, Air Academy High. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, I did not get my sophomore season. Although I was able to find a club and compete indoor! I found out how much I loved indoor track and the short hurdle races. I was able to travel to the UW high school invite, and to the Virginia Showcase through my club; setting some PRs in the 55H and 55m.
Since then, I have become a Multi! I am now competing for Kula Sports Performance and my goal for my senior year is to compete at both the indoor and outdoor national meets in the pent and hep!
I’m so excited to be on the journey to finding the perfect college and program for me. I want to Coach in the future, so a college track team in more than just competing for me, it’s also learning how to coach. I’m extremely certain of all the amazing programs out there that may give me an opportunity to do just that! :)
