Hello, my name is Abigail Kates, most people call me Abby, and I have been competing in Track and Field for the past 7 years. I started out simply running sprints in the fourth grade in my CYO program. When I began my fifth-grade season, I was able to compete in field events such as long jump, triple jump, and my personal favorite HIGH JUMP. Once I began to compete in this event - high jump - I completely fell in love and aspired to one day compete at the collegiate level. I will graduate in 2020 from Archmere Academy in Claymont, Delaware. I will continue to focus on excelling in my academics (4.21 GPA) and growing my skills as an athlete. I have been a state champion for indoor (2017 and 2018) and outdoor (2018 and 2019) high jump in the Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association Division I competition.
My personal record is 5 feet 5 inches for high jump, 34 feet 2 inches for triple jump and 16 feet 5 inches for long jump. I am growing stronger as a person every year on and off the field. Aside from Track and Field, I love to sing and participate in the productions at my high school. I also play Varsity volleyball at my high school during the fall and basketball in a Rec league down the shore in Sea Isle City, NJ.
