Silia Matelau '22 Recruiting Profile

I’m a big motivator and determined to get better every day in this sport with working really hard and remembering to have fun. I have a really  positive attitude and on my off days I’ll always continue to keep that up. This year I’ve gotten a real passion for both discus and triple jump. I’m having a lot of fun learning each new technique and getting that satisfaction of gaining a few more feet each time. Even though discus and triple jumping may not seem like a team sport, it  makes me happy getting to support the other girls and gain great friendships. I don’t have an exact idea of what I want to pursue for my career, but I’m focusing on getting a degree in business and seeing where it takes me. I’m really focusing on my grades right now and I’ll continue through next year!
