Personal Statement

I have been an athlete my entire life.  I began pole vaulting my freshman year and discovered that I have the perfect body type, work ethic, and determination for the sport.  I won AAU Club Nationals less than 6 months after I vaulted for the first time.  I am a smart, fearless competitor and have been told by my coaches that I am a very coachable athlete. Due to COVID I have only had 2 outdoor seasons, and Florida does not have any indoor meets.  I believe that I have so much more to give and learn from the sport.  I am a dedicated and supportive team player who is not afraid of hard work. I have proven that I am capable of excelling in both academics as well as athletics, and I would love the opportunity to continue this balance in college as a scholar athlete.

Training

  • Pole Vault / Varsity Track
  • 3 years
  • Began Pole Vaulting & running track my Freshman Year (Jan. 2018). Ihad no prior experience with the sport, but had been a competitive gymnast since the age of 6. I trained in both sports in 2018, and retired from gymnastics in 2019, fully committing to Pole Vault and Track at that time.
  • Strength & Conditioning
  • 1 year
  • I began a comprehensive Pole Vault specific strength and conditioning program in August 2020. I train individually with Coach Sheldon Armstrong (CSCS) multiple times a week. My goal is to be at my optimal physical performance level for my senior year and beyond. Coach Armstrong is a former NCAA All American, and former professional track athlete with Nike Athletics and the Santa Monica Track Club. Please feel free to contact Coach Armstrong for the specifics of my training plan.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
