Aloha,
My name is Maleah Kanayama, and I am from Oahu, Hawaii, currently attending Moanalua High School as a junior. I've started running track and cross country freshman year and have been on the varsity team ever since then. Following this, my dream continues to compete at a college that provides an outstanding business program and an excellent cross country/track team. I strive to improve and develop academically, athletically, and individually.
During my high school season, I received the most outstanding, most inspirational for girls cross country, and most outstanding for girls track & field. During freshman year, I won OIA's for the 1500m and still hold the title as of right now. I qualified for cross country states during freshman and sophomore year and qualified for track states as well.
My experiences of my high school seasons have significantly impacted my personal and athletic life. I learned countless essential factors from my teammates and especially coaches. As a captain of the cross country team, I learned to continuously encourage my teammates and push myself and others to the best of their ability.
Being an extremely determined, coachable, and dedicated athlete, I hope to be part of a team contributing a beneficial effect.
