My first experience running track was in 5th grade. Up until sophomore year, I didn't really see my potential as a runner. From sophomore year I realized that I was a competitive runner and I enjoyed the competition. This competitiveness has opened me up as a student. I used to be a very quiet and passive student, but my competitiveness has helped me succeed with Rosary's difficult education. Despite having a high competitive level, I don't let this carry into being self-centered or not being able to be a good teammate in school projects or in track. Academically, I have wanted to go into law since I was 12 years old and I have not swayed my view for that goal. Both of my parents are professionals which has given me two good examples to look up to along with consistent encouragement with everything I do. I feel like I have the ability to get along well with teammates since I have never had an issue with anyone in my continuous years of doing sports. I am also looking forward to being captain and / or co-captain next year on my high school track team and I will have a good balance between being a strong leader and encouraging team member.
