Last year was my first year at high school track and it is now in my blood to compete and get better. I always knew I was fast as I ran track in middle school where I broke the school record in the 100, 200 and the 4x100. I just didn't join the track team my freshman year due to other commitments and then covid impacted those other events and that is where I turned to track as we could still compete during this time. I think what I love about track is it is just me pushing for my personal best each and every time. I found that each race I got better and better and the thrill of pushing thru to win was incredible. My sophomore year ended with breaking 3 high school records in the 100, 200 and the long jump and being the only individual at my high school that qualified for state. I placed 4th at state in long jump, 7th in the 200 and 15th in the 100. I have already calculated out the seniors that beat me and graduated and my goal for this year is to win state in long jump, place in the top 3 for the 200 and the top 7 for the 100. I now want to continue this journey and compete at the college level.
