Ayshia Johnson '20 Recruiting Profile

My name is Ayshia Johnson, however, I prefer my middle name, Ariel. I have been running track for five years now. I am currently a junior at Downers grove south. Some of my goals include breaking my high school's triple, 200m, and 400m records and getting on the 4x4 team before I leave. Once I graduate I pray I am recruited by any college that can help financially and want to see me do will not only athletically but academically as well. No matter what I want a coach that I can have a strong bond with and that I know will do what is best for me as an athlete and that can help me reach my goals of going to the Olympics. I understand that a lot of athletes rarely make it D1, and it is even fewer who make it to the Olympics. However, I have been wanting to do this since I was in second grade and I can not imagine myself doing anything thing else in life. I think that my passion, drive, and determination mixed with a  coach who can not only correct my technique and form, but also is aggressive and pushes me past any mental blocks I encounter will allow me to make my dreams a reality.
