I work very hard in and out of my classes, taking mainly honors/AP classes overall, especially in my math and science classes. So far, from the beginning of my freshman year to the end of my sophomore year, I have maintained a 5.5 or above GPA on a 5.0 scale (weighted). I would like to continue my track career in college at a D2 or D1 school, as well as continuing my math and science studies more in depth, preferably in a field of study having to do with engineering. My whole life I have payed multiple sports per year, which narrowed down to soccer, track, volleyball, and basketball once I entered high school. My main event for track I prefer to be triple jump, but my coaches have found that I am able to help our team earn points in the long jump and different sprints as well. From my eighth grade year to freshman year, my triple jump increased 1’ 10” (33’ 6” to 35’ 4”), and almost the same exact thing happened from my freshman to sophomore year (35’ 4” to 37’ 2.25”). My long jump considerably increased from when I began long jumping freshman year (16’ 5”) to a 17’ 4” my sophomore year. I only got 3 meets in during indoor season for my sophomore year before events were cancelled and schools were closed, so I have not been able to attempt any further official distances, and won’t be able to until my junior season. I plan to continue practicing and improving in the off season to hopefully continue seeing over a foot of growth each year in triple jump, and may join an indoor club track team to further aid in my progression.
