My immediate goal is to break the women's pole vault record at University High School which currently stands at 12'6.75". I believe I would have achieved this goal if my sophomore track season was not cut short due to the pandemic. I have several collegiate athletic and academic goals. My athletic goals include competing at the highest level in women's pole vault and possibly other track events at national and international events, breaking the indoor and outdoor women's pole vault record at my eventual university, and eventually clearing 14' or higher while in college. I know these goals are aspirational but I believe in aiming high.
While Pole Vaulting is an individual sport, our club members all root for one another and feel and act like a family. I want my collegiate experience to replicate that. I am extremely competitive during events. I want to win. Despite that, I am also a good team member and want everyone to achieve personal records at every event. I am looking for a university that has an individual pole vaulting coach so that I can achieve my athletic goals. I am looking for a coach that will push me both athletically and academically, will be supportive, and that I will have good communication with.
