After being recruited for high jump in middle school and testing out the sport, I immediately developed a passion for improving my skills. I joined USATF and attended their high jump camp the summer before my 8th grade year. I listened intently and learned the fine techniques required to achieve my PR. Accomplishing my personal best during sectionals allowed me the incredible experience of going to State that following year. Placing 10th in State was a great accomplishment, but also has since pushed me to go even further. It is my goal to work with professional coaches to refine my craft and jump 5'3" by the end of this season. Before the end of my high school career, I will be jumping at least 5'4 and place in the finals at State.
My ambition for Track is intense, however, I am grounded in the understanding that being a well-rounded person: academically and socially is equally valuable. Caring for the needs of those in my community, maintaining excellent grades, and being a role-model are qualities I set forth to accomplish each and every day.
