The chance I had my sophomore year to go to state as an alternate was amazing. The opportunity opened my eyes to what I could achieve. The chance to experiencing the energy of going to state and the buzzing atmosphere brought me to next level of my athletic career. Being an alternate that year and being tenths away from breaking a school record made me realize I was just one step away from not only growing as an athlete but as a person too. A person who strives to grow and make goals to achieve that. Although I think the most impactful was being able to adapt to a new coaching staff and coaching system that helped me grow. Being able to adapt and my positive outlook made it easy for me to realize what I could accomplish after going to state my sophomore year, and that I can compete on the college level. Not only as an athlete but as a vigorous student because being able to adapt and grow gives me the chance to know I can compete in college and be a good addition to any community.
