Spraining my ankle sophomore year was a huge struggle for me when it first happened. Though by the time the healing process began I realized that there was still a chance for me to be able to get back into my run. Having the experience of rolling it once caused me to roll a couple times over again, but I never let that stop me from running on. Some of the best races I ran junior year were on a sprained ankle that I rolled the day before.
This experience that I have had throughout high school helped me realize that I am capable of something more than what has been completed in the past. My struggles also helped me learn to be a better example for the team to never let something stop you from doing the things you love.
