Making it to state my freshman year and placing 6th is definitely my most memorable experience. However, the past two years have taught me more than placing at state ever will. My sophomore year I joined cross country to become the runner I wanted to be. Little did I know how much I would fall in love with the sport. This sport has shown me that it is about more than who can run the fastest over a long distance, but about who is willing to work to push themself to be a better runner and has the resilience to continue to do so.
Sophomore year I also pushed myself to excel academically. Academics had already been a top priority to me; however I wanted drive past my previous expectations of just settling for A’s in the classroom. In order to do this I needed to advance my curriculum by challenging myself with extra core, honors, and college credit classes.
I am looking for a school that will continue to help me strive as student-athlete. As a three sport athlete I know I have the skills, dedication, and character to compete at the college level. I also have the dedication to represent my future program well in the classroom.
