I moved here from South Africa in 2015 as a 12 year old. I was very impressionable, out of my comfort-zone and vulnerable when I first moved to Maine. I joined the summer Track and Field league and within three months of being in the country I had 3 state championship medals and one broken record as an anchor of my 4x100 relay team. My team became my very first friends and if it weren’t for track I wouldn’t have had the opportunity to redefine myself as well as make some of the most memorable friendships I’ve ever made. I live to sing, play instruments, write music and perform in my worship team at my local church. I aspire to work as a Music therapist because I have a heart for helping people as a social worker and what better way than to incorporate something I’ve been in love with since I was born, music! My second love is Track and Field, I attribute my drive, passion and work ethic from what I’ve learnt on track field. It has given me so much opportunity, been my place of growth, and taught me many life lessons. My favorite feeling is when the world fades away as I climb into my blocks, stare down my hurdle lane and the only thing I can hear is the cadence and off I go. If you were to welcome me to your team I would bring my A+ game to every practice, meet and even off season training session, oh and a smile :)
