As a student and track and field thrower, I am very determined and self-driven. I always strive to improve. I believe that I am extremely coachable and will do and perform anything asked of me in practice and/or in class.
Since I was four years old, I have been invested in martial arts, earning the rank of a second degree black belt. Karate has benefited me significantly in throwing through parallels in the areas of balance and technique. It has also helped me tremendously with ease of coachability for appropriate body positioning.
This season, as a junior, I am captain for my track and field team. I have enjoyed being captain because I have been able to spread encouragement and lead by example. I am also very grateful for being able to mentor the few girls participating in throwing events. This leadership role has taught me many life lessons, and I aim to continue learning. This year I will be competing in shot put, discus, and javelin. I am excited for what’s to come and hope to improve greatly. I work hard and will always give 100% to all the activities and sports in which I participate and compete in.
