Standing at State with my javelin during my freshmen year was the beginning of my journey wanting to pursue this lifestyle. The feeling of creating a milestone at each track meet is a feeling beyond being able to explain. As my freshmen year was my very first year of trying out javelin I immediately knew what dedication felt like as I won All-Conference, Districts, Sectionals, 3rd in State for Class 2 girls, and All-State. Most of my track season I had managed to coach myself and teach myself successful techniques. As I continue my sophomore year in track, I have been able to teach new-beginners and freshmen boys and girls all about the aspects of javelin. Recently finishing my sophomore year of track I was able to win All-Conference, Districts, Sectionals, 7th in State for Class 2 girls, and All-State. My sophomore track season was rather more competitive and challenged me mentally, but it caused me to build a stronger athlete mentality. After these experiences, I have learned that my efforts of being a strong teammate are worthy of competing at a high school and college level.
My main goals for the pursuit of my athletic career and future occupation is to grow as an individual. To ensure that I will be involved with a program that helps me develop proper skills for my sport and profession. What makes me a good candidate for a team is the leadership skills I show to my teammates and our competitors. It's important to me to build respect and trust with my coaches and peers to develop a strong- reliable relationship. What seems to make me different from other recruits is the commitment and drive I have to accomplish the goals that I have set for my academics and sports. Growing up I learned to have a strong foundation with the Lord and have ethical values that will make me go far as a person. Leading my team to victory is not the only accomplishment that I want to fulfill, but to gain the bonds with each and every one of my teammates. As I have been in sports for my whole life, I have learned what work-ethic and sacrifice it takes to be a leader on a team.
