Urte Noreikaite '24 Recruiting Profile

I am Urte Noreikaite. As you may guess from the strange name I'm not from America, I am from Lithuania. It is a small country near the Baltic Sea. At the end of October 2021, I applied to an exchange program to go to America for the school year. At first, I was a bit scared and did not know what to expect, but then I decided to just go for it, and I never looked back.
 

I got placed in Kilgore, Nebraska if you do not know where that is it's fine because I didn't know either. I went to school at Cody Kilgore Unified School. School went well, I have a 3.8 GPA. I always wanted to try weight lifting but never had the chance to so my year started with a 85 lbs HC and squat, and finished up with a 170 lbs HC and a 315 lbs squat. My coach liked my numbers and decided to get me into throwing. I started shot put in the middle of March 2023 and discus at the beginning of April 2023.  I have never thrown before that. Shot put season started at 32'6" and my PB was 35'5". With discus, I started with 94'7" and my PB was 126'8". I also threw discus at State Track and got 3rd place. Now I hold four school records at CKUS, two for throwing and two for weightlifting.
