I started track in middle school (7th grade). Ever since then I have found more of a love for the sport than anything else I’ve done. Both my parents participated in track in high school, my dad went on to do a year of it in college followed by four years of football. I am willing to work as hard as I possibly can to be the best athlete I can be. I have only done two years of high school track, since junior year season got cancelled. Just through two years, I have grown as a person. Last year (10th grade) I went to state for the 4x4 (placed 2nd) and the 4x1 (places 3rd). At districts I placed 4th for pole vault which was one spot from being able to go to state for it. I know I have to come to practice every day physically and mentally ready to put in everything I have to get better. My academic goals are to get a 4.0 every year. I have managed to do so my whole high school so far.
In middle school, I wasn’t the best athlete but I did realize that I could make improvements and started going in before and after school to work out, get in better shape and prepare myself for the track season. I still do so and I participate in the UNL track camp weekly. As or right now I hold multiple weight lifting records at Waverly High School. I know I have not only the talent but also the right mindset, work ethic and hardworking mentality to be a part of your program. I will do whatever it takes to be a leader on your team!
