Ashley began running cross country 1/2 way through 7th Grade. She later made the Middle School track team, but was only a 400 meter runner. She tried out in 8th Grade for the Cross Country and made the Middle School Varsity team. At this point she fell in love with running. She consistently placed in the top 4 for her team in each race. She later made the track team running the 1600 & 800 meter races also finishing at or near the top for her team. At this point we sat down and discussed whether or not she wanted to continue with cheerleading in high school or do cross country. She loved running, so we signed her up for 2 summer camps which brought her to a level where she ran Varsity the majority of her Freshman Season Earning her Varsity Letter. She did this while also competing with her schools marching band which went on to with the State & National Championships. Academically she also earned a 4.0 her 1st marking period.
